The City of Milan Building/Zoning Department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Michigan Building Codes, City Zoning Ordinance and various City Codes. Services include the issuing of building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits, site plan review, zoning compliance, property maintenance complaints, noxious weed complaints, and other similar matters. Our inspectors assure that all structures within the City are constructed safely and related property is maintained according to minimum code standards.
The Building/Zoning Official also acts as the liaison to the Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Building & Safety Board of Appeals.
